The wildly ambitious Festival in the Forest features 19 acts from all over the current indie music scene. There's the eclectic dance music outfit Tussle, the fiery blues rock trio The Entrance Band, the literate alt country of the Silver Jews, the wacky Devendra Banhart fronted Megapuss and elegant otherworldly duo Beach House. It's an amazing lineup performing on a stage constructed in Fernwood's campground, and all proceeds benefit the Big Sur Volunteer Fire Brigade. (See story.) [ST]
