Multiple winner for Best of Monterey County Musician Dennis Murphy is gifted enough to entertain a gala fundraiser's worth of folks on his own. But he's getting some help—from an 18-piece big band (with 13 horns) and two plus-sized talents in pint-sized packages, 9-year-old Mimi Sledge on vocals and her 6-year-old sis Bopah on the drums. But neglected and abandoned children at risk of being lost in the Juvenile Dependency system do need some help; that's where CASA comes in, as does this swinging speakeasy style benefit party, complete with passwords, flappers and food by Monterey Bay Chapter American Culinary Federation Celebrated Chef of the Year Mark Ayers.
