The inspiring Four Seasons score comes courtesy of some guy named Vivaldi. The 12 light and fluid dancers are drawn from all over the world. The inspiration for the costumes they wear (ranging from what appear to be gym shorts to glowing green body suits) and the props they use (including what looks like a huge half egg shell to rock and dance upon) probably arrived from some planet in a more creative universe; the transportative setting emanates from the vision of sculptor/collaborator Fabrice Hyber. The direction, meanwhile, comes from premiere contemporary European choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, and the praise comes from all corners, including the New York Times, which writes, “Angelin Preljocaj’s group stands out, with an accent on creativity and musical experiment.” [MCA]
