Picklefruit buttercups, Indian warriors and robust verbenas are only a minute selection of the, more than 600 varieties and species of wildflowers (many with names just as queer) that will be on hand at the largest wildflower show in the Northern and Western Hemispheres. Bring in any wildflower to be identified by a team of expert botanists and learn how to improve your own garden using some of these local gems. This annual event–put on in collaboration with the Monterey Bay Chapter of the California Native Plant Society–is one of the museum’s biggest events of the year. [AJ]
