Alexander Sitkovetsky and Monterey Symphony at Sherwood Hall

Violinist Sitkovetsky was born in Moscow, lives in Britain, and has traveled the world on the "warm tone" of his violin playing as a soloist for prestigious venues and symphonies. Guest conductor, from the Wichita Chamber Orchestra and Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Andrew Sewell--who fills in for Giampaolo Bisanti, who postponed his appearance--takes over the baton for this program that ranges from Nicolo Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major Op. 6, to four concert pieces by Giuseppe Martucci, and ends with Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien. The final rehearsal and performance at Sherwood Hall are followed by two performances at Sunset Center. [WR]
