Metal heads can thrash, bang, and stomp along with Monterey-based Razorhoof as the band takes the stage tonight at Jose's. This up-and-coming metal quartet has been tinkering around the county, playing various venues and accumulating a faithful following in spite of, or likely because of, their ear busting sound. The show will open with Portland's Facepilot and the Soul Merchants out of Santa Cruz. Razorhoof, a project started just for the hell of it, will keep their loyal fans moshing and mesmerize new ones with a set full of finger-flying riffs, penetrating percuscion, and searing vocals. A fool wouldn't heed the warning on the band's Myspace: bring earplugs. [MF]
