A blanket, a picnic (styled to preference), and a dollar—that’s all it takes to spend four decibel-packed hours enjoying the sounds of Levi Strom, 300 Pounds, Apple Orange and Franklin for Short, courtesy of the Henry Miller Library. 300 Pounds, Bay Area funky punks who just released their latest album “Trail of Numbered Days” swing from heavy metal to groovy pop sounds. Franklin for Short is looking for a good time, an attitude that reverberates through their feel-good psychedelic rock and sets heads to bobbing. Bringing the Sunday afternoon feel to the show, soloist Apple Orange lays down mellow yellow vocals in a voice that is soothing and scintillating at the same time. Levi Strom rounds out the concert in true Big Sur style with homegrown spiritual folk. [MC]
