36th Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races at Mazda Raceway

Hearts will really thump today and tomorrow as racing legends Brian Redman (the British 1970s world champion) and fellow Brit Sir Stirling Moss ("the greatest driver never to win a world championship") share the speedway with 400 vintage cars and multitudes of attendees. The races have always about been paying homage to cars of days gone by, but organizers don't live with their heads in the sand. They'll be debuting an hybrid car- the Fisker Karma Plug-in- which can get 50 miles on electric only driving. They'll get their wheels wet today with practice runs before competition starts tomorrow. Spectators are welcome all three days.
