Although vocalist Carla Blackwell has performed at the likes of the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, B.B. King's Blues Club, Golden state Warriors' Basketball games and most recently at the Sao Paolo Jazz Festival in Brazil, there is something about Sly McFly's that keeps bringing her back. Blackwell is making herself a regular fixture at the Cannery Row blues hot spot, and she brings with her Bill Ireton on guitar, Gene Ginn on keyboard, and Maurice Mile on drums. The result is a funky mixture of iconic pop, R&B and soul fused together by Blackwell's fierce voice. [MC]
