A San Francisco singer/songwriter who could easily appeal to the KPIG crowd, Deborah Crooks is not the sort you'd expect to perform in Jose's Lounge Underground, which is typically reserved for more raucous rock shows. Her "Dream Me" is pop folk as clean and natural as spring water. Meanwhile, a contemplative rocker, "Turn It All Red" evokes Sheryl Crow with Mark Knopfler-style guitar playing busting out of the seams. [ST]
