An Evening with William Blake at Carl Cherry

A tribute to William Blake one of Britain's most important artists is ambitious--Blake made his mark in both poetry and painting, even trying his hand at print making. The Carl Cherry Center has just the trio for the job, even throwing music into the mix as soprano Norma Mayer and flutist Richard Mayer perform Blake's poems set to the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams. Bill Minor, who himself was trained as a visual artist and has published six books of poetry, reads some of Blake's other poems, providing insight's into the visionary artist's self-invention and postmortem legendary status.Call ahead for tickets.
