An ex-con, an ex-champion, a resentful over-achiever, a flower child and a slew of quirky characters make up the 10-person cast of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. A lot is on the line for the middle school age contestants and for the three adults judging the cutthroat competition. Spelling Bee is a musical comedy that earned several Tony’s and has been revived throughout the country ever since its 2005 debut. PacRep honors the play's unique formula by asking audience members to participate in rounds of the competition. (See Theater story.) [MF]
