United Way Launches 2-11 Information for Monterey County

2-11 is an easy number to remember, and there’s always an operator on the other line during times of disaster to provide people with vital information about evacuation sites and temporary shelters. Available in 150 languages and 24 hours a day, it is a vital new resource. Monterey County commends the launch of 2-11 with a reception and countywide bus rally. The official 2-11 introduction is held at the National Steinbeck Center at 11am. Attendees are educated about the number and hear the first live call.
