The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), in conjunction with Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society, encourages people of all feathers to cultivate their curiosity for rare and common flying creatures by identifying them in their own backyards, schoolyards and local parks. The project is a national effort to collect data that assists researchers in understanding trends in bird migration and biodiversity. Report bird sightings online at www.birdcount.org. Spotting just one sparrow serves a noble pursuit. February 13 - 16th.
