Last year about 40 singles (including this writer and another one named Adam Joseph) braved a fierce winter storm to try and find love at the 2008 Monterey Bay Singles Convention. The event included a pep talk on flirting and some ice breaking exercises that yielded no results for me, but secured my fellow singles convention partner Joseph a few hot dates. This year, organizers are encouraging participants to dress "dressy" while taking in a keynote address unfortunately tiled "Finding Love During a Recession" by author Tana Marie. After that, they'll let the singles loose on one another at a dance with a DJ. [ST]
