San Francisco's French Miami might initially sound like the jagged indie rock of early Modest Mouse on "The God Damn Best." Or the band, which will be playing Austin's famed South By Southwest Festival in a few weeks, evokes the more majestic sounds of Arcade Fire on "Science Fiction." But, then in both songs, the group reveals a love of '80s dance music with some big synths in the middle sections. Los Milagros and Beezle are also on this bill. [ST]
