The city of Seaside fills Oldemeyer Center with a slate of activities at the start of the new year that testify to diversity. The Lunch by Candlelight invites seniors for lunch, provided by Meals on Wheels, and live music ($2.50 donation appreciated); the Polynesian Dance class teaches Hula and Tahitian dance ($20-$25); Ikeban workshops instruct on the delicate art of Japanese flower arranging ($15-$18); Israeli folk dance classes take participants on a whirl with circle, line and couples dances from Israel ($20-$25); and Imagine Dance imparts ballet, lyrical, jazz and contemporary dance to kids 3-13 ($15-$20). That's entertainment. And culture.
