With this 6-hour documentary, shown in two-hour segments over three nights, PBS shows off its funny side. Employing archival clips and interviews with Cheech Marin, Jerry Seinfeld, Lily Tomlin, Chris Rock, Three Stooges, George Carlin, Judd Apatow, Jonathan Winters and many more performers waiting in the wings (90 in all), this marathon of funny explores how comedians have responded to and defined the country's social and political landscape.
