Monterey Symphony and Pedro Carbone at Sherwood Hall

Maestro Max leads the Monterey Symphony across a program of Beethoven's Overture to Leonore No. 2, Sibelius' First Symphony, and Schumann's Piano Concerto featuring the Symphony's debut performance with renowned Spanish pianist Pedro Carbone. The Washington Post described Carbone's Kennedy Center debut as a performance with "...a refined touch and unforced spontaneity, bending tempos pliantly...". A special pre-concert lecture before each of the three performances introduces ticketholders to concertmaster Liang-Ping How, who also attends a preview luncheon on Friday Jan. 16 ($45, RSVP). [WR]
