The 17 branches of the Monterey County Free Libraries kick off a summer-long, 120+ strong, free roster of events for kids, teens and adults starting June 15. A reception for the Adult Reading Program is held at McShane's Nursery 4:30-7:30pm Thu, June 18 (115 Monterey Salinas Highway, Salinas). The events are interspersed with entertainment from Sledge Grits Band, Dan Chan the Magic Man, Fratello Marionettes, the Magic Circus, storytellers, jugglers, Boswick the Clown, and more. Teen programs cover yoga, origami, Japanese writing and scrapbooking. The whole show rotates among all the libraries until Aug. 1. Ambitious, no? See website or call for details.
