Carmel Plaza begins its first of many Friday evening concert series, Jazz at the Plaza, with the showmanship of Neal Banks combined with the flavor of Peirce Vineyards. Originally from Detroit, Neal's voice is enjoyed regularly at Monterey nightclubs like Sly McFly's and Cibo, appearing with entertainers like Phil Driscoll, Herbie Hancock, Dennis Murphy, Ron E. Beck (Tower of Power) & Joseph Lucido. The smoothness and versatility of Bank's voice is matched this evening by the wide portfolio of wines from Peirce Ranch Vineyards who'll have a tasting. Featured from this southernmost Monterey County vineyard are weighty varietals of Cabernet, Petite Syrah, Tempranillo, Touriga, Albarino and many more. [BP]
