This is the last weekend of this exhibit, which closes July 17, from Rydell Visual Arts Fellowship awardee and Santa Cruz artist Beverly Rayner, a curious union of art and science that takes a foundation of vintage, color and vellum-print photos, and builds on it with objects from laboratories, glass, metal and bees wax. The results are strange, arresting objects that mimick and mirror human organs like eyes and brain nerves, but speak to fleeting concepts like perception and memory.
11am-4pm Mon-Fri; by appointment other days. Carl Cherry Center for the Arts, Fourth and Guadalupe, Carmel. Free. 624-7491. http://carlcherrycenter.org/.
