22nd Annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering at Sherwood Hall

This year's "Cowboys and Cabaret" poetry gathering showcases the winners (ages 18 and younger) of the Monterey County Free Library Cowboy Poetry Contest winners, chronicling the western way of life. The event kicks off with a silent auction, while local vintners offer a different taste of western life through a variety of homegrown wines. All proceeds benefit the Monterey County Free Libraries. Salinas Poet Laureate Clem Albertoni will wrangle the event, starting with an open mike night for poets and musicians. Later, the Sons of the San Joaquin, Juni Fisher and Pat Richardson perform in true cowboy style. [MC]
