Broadway funny-man Neil Simon (Biloxi Blues, The Odd Couple) turns his wacky gaze inward in this semi-autobiographical farce that hones in on the antics of a group of television comedy writers under pressure from network executives and McCarthyism. If any of the characters—like the boozy, druggy TV star Max Prince—come across as familiar, that's because Simon himself worked as a television comedy writer alongside Sid Ceasar, Carl Reiner, Mel Brooks and Woody Allen. PacRep's Stephen Moorer directs the ensuing high-jinks. The show runs until July 19. [WR]
