The California Cowboys bring back their rollicking, foot-stompin’ sound to Sly McFly’s on Friday. The band is an accomplished bunch: California Country Music Association awarded Hal Atkinson drummer of the year in 1994 and guitarist Gary Potterton produced holiday standby “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.” They also performed at the Cow Palace and the Shoreline Amphitheater and have shared concert billings with Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. With songs like “We Ride ‘em We Rope’em” and “Double Shot of Hank,” the Cowboys are sure to fill Mcfly’s with country lovers looking to have a good time. [MS]
