Kiki Ebsen combines smoky vocals with keyboard as sweet and mellow as chocolate. The Santa Monica artist—who happens to be the daughter of the late Buddy Ebsen of the Beverly Hillbillies—has made herself a household name in the jazz community, performing with the likes of Paul Brown and Tracy Chapman. Her soulful songs are somewhere in "the warm place between pop and contemporary jazz." A mixture of covers and witty, self-penned lyrics are the crowning glory of this show on the starlit patio of the Plaza Linda. Reservations recommended. [MC]
