This year's Monterey Bay Blues Festival featured acts include New Orleans greats The Neville Brothers, Jeffrey Osborne, Clarence Carter, gospel greats The Mighty Clouds of Joy, former Paul Butterfield sideman Elvin ("Fooled Around and Fell In Love'') Bishop, jazz and blues singer Barbara Morrison, who will be paying tribute to the late, great Koko Taylor, Kenny Neal, winner of this year's Mobay Artist of the Year Award, Janiva Magness, winner of the 2009 Blues Music Entertainer of the Year Award, who is currently touring to promote her new Alligator CD, "What Love Will Do.'' And many, many more. A great way to loosen up, enjoy the sounds...and begin to prep for the upcoming Monterey Jazz Festival. Meanwhile, the blues, as always, will save your very soul.
