This breakthrough film fest closes with a weekend of high notes. Thursday: afternoon screenings of James Ivory shorts, the lovely Maria Bello (7:30pm), speaking before her film The Cooler (8pm). Friday: a locally-produced doc on a cool art scene, a talk by its filmmakers (9pm), and an “underground art” exhibit. Saturday: the rare animated Fleischer Bros. feature Gulliver’s Travels (10am) and Kurosawa’s Kagemusha (11:30am), and filmmakers Robert Stone (3pm) and Monty Miranda (7pm) speak before screening their latest. Sunday: The Empire Strikes Back (1:30pm, 8:30pm)—the evening show offers a Q&A with director Irvin Kershner—and Andy Abrahams Wilson presents his documentary premiere on Lyme disease.
