The Transportation Agency for Monterey County throws this event that challenges and encourages folks in the tri-county area to get their bike on May 10-16. Register at www.bike2work.com and join a contest to see which workplace racks up the most two-wheeled commuting miles (the Weekly won last year, fyi; a bike rack at Peet's Coffee will mark that occasion) for a chance to win a laptop. On Thursday, May 14, cyclists get a free breakfast at 20 various locations. There are nine specific events and a whole mess of reasons to participate, including saving gas money, burning calories, health and fun. [WR]
