The statute of limitations has run out, so at this point he can be forgiven his two-record concept album, "From a Flower to a Garden,'' written during his Maharishi period. (Hey, he was in good company.) Besides, longtime Scottish folkie Donovan has written lots of good songs before (and since) then, including "Catch The Wind,'' "Colors.'' The D-Man, whose work has also been rediscovered by Wes Anderson, who featured "Jersey Thursday'' in "Rushmore,'' '' will be coming to Monterey for the opening night of his "Ritual Groove Tour'' promoting his new album of the same name. According to the good folks at the Golden State, "the evening will be made even more special by the diffusion of natural perfumes into the theatre during certain of the songs.'' Guess he's (still) just mad about saffron. [PW]
