This multi talented artist is bringing her soothing Billie Holiday blues rendition to East Village. Deanna has been playing classical music on the Peninsula for nine years and appears as a guest soloist, poet, violist (a violin-like instrument) and vocalist in The Jon Rubin Band. The acoustic string trio featuring Jon on guitar, Chris Will on bass and Deanna on viola/fiddle, have been performing their unique blend of blues, rock, folk, Celtic, bluegrass, jazz and classical music since 2008. Rubin attended the 2008 String Band Jam session at the Monterey Peninsula Academy of Music where he met Lynn, winner of the Youth Artist Concert in 2007and principal violist of Youth Music Monterey's Honors orchestra. Together these two highly skilled musicians collaborate in their passionate music and song- stories. [KP]
