Along with the punk band the Stooges, the '70s funk outfit War was nominated for a possible 2009 induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Though the band didn't make it in this year, the popular multicultural act with many hits including "Spill the Wine," "Slippin' Into Darkness" and "Low Rider" will not be forgotten anytime soon by fans of funk music. Tonight, the groundbreaking act, which was assisted early on by the Animals' Eric Burdon, are sure to play those funk classics. [ST]
