Put the blame on Mame. The last musical of the Western Stage season will be "Mame,'' a revival of the hit Broadway show starring Angela Lansbury and based on Patrick Dennis' novel, "Little Me''and written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, the veteran team responsible for theatre staples including "Inherit The Wind.'' In this production, the popular local actress Donna Federico, plays Auntie Mame, the high-flown eccentric who finds herself named guardian of her ten-year-old nephew Patrick (Ezra Vizcarra). A surprisingly relevant tale - Mame loses her fortune, and is in danger of losing custody of the orphaned Patrick - it makes political points in a diverting way. This outing is led by Anne Marie Hunter, the Western Stage's director and choreographer. It runs until Nov. 22. [PW]
