Those in short supply of food will now be blessed this holiday season with a plentiful bounty from some very giving hands. The Gleaning Stories Project tells the story through an video/audio exhibit of 80 gleaners, as they are called, who lovingly salvage fruits and vegatables left behind in local fields and orchards after harvest and bring it to food banks and soup kitchens for the hungery to have. Listen to the inspiring stories of their farm and family life in person that brought them to glean and how sharing nutures and expands our community. [KP]
2-4pm. National Steinbeck Center, 1 Main St., Salinas. Free. 775-4721/755-4724. http://www.steinbeck.org.
