American Experience presents a five part series on life in America during the great depression era. From the stock market crash to an unlikely hero that inspired, the series highlights five of the major events that shaped the 1930s era. Each Monday evening, the program looks to use a new event from the 30s to help us understand how we got to our current global recession and where we may end up next.The series includes "The Crash of 1929"(Oct.26), "The Civilian Conservation Corps" (Nov. 2), " Hoover Dam" (Nov. 9), " Surviving the Dust Bowl" (Nov. 16) and "Seabiscuit" (Nov. 23).
