Lighthouse Cinemas' 5-week Classic Film Series started with the man-centric Dr. Strangelove, hit a sweet center of three Audrey Hepburn films, and closes with a nod to man movies with the action-packed 1961 film about Mallory (Gregory Peck) who must lead a motely crew of men—including Michael Niven, Anthony Quinn and Stanley Baker—on a suicide mission during World War II on the Aegaen Seas. The action and the score are over-the-top, the acting top notch, the special effects are dated, but it's still exciting stuff. The film even inspired a popular video game a few years ago. [WR]
