Starting today the longest running wine festival in the New World spills a hundred wineries' newest and finest offerings into the community's goblet over two days. To try half of the roughly 100 in that time would allow for an education in superior flavor worth the price of admission, but there's more taste where that came from: showcase snacks from local restaurants, featured stations like the Hama Hama oyster bar and cooking demos for chefs good enough to earn admission to a little Pennsylvania Avenue place in D.C. and confines as fine as the Aquarium and the Hyatt's new ballroom. Still, the wineries featured, boutique and big boy, local and regional, classic and freshly formed, star. Get tickets and the saliva-sanctioning list of vineyards at the website or at one of the range of fine restaurants who offer a free ticket for each foursome who rolls through their doors. [MCA]
