CAA pays tribute, in their September show, to William F. Stone, Jr., who passe away Aug. 22, with his exhibit Abstract at 80: Past & Present, his semi-abstract watercolors of boats, ports, street scenes and Peninsula landmarks. Other exhibits include a dual show of paintings by Pamela Takigawa of her father's antique tools and Michael St. Mary's wave-form wood sculpture; Pamela Carroll's pictorial illusionist oils; watercolors and acrylic landscapes by Miguel Dominguez (he made a quiet splash at the June show with "Summer Glide"); and watercolor landscapes by Alicia Meheen. The show opens with a reception 6-8pm Saturday, Sept. 5, with a panel discussion by Carroll, Dominguez and Meheen 7pm Wednesday, Sept. 9, and runs until Oct. 6. [WR]
6-8pm Sat (Sept. 5) opening reception; 7pm Wed (Sept. 9) talk; 10am-5pm daily. Carmel Art Association, Dolores Street between Fifth and Sixth, Carmel. Free. 624-6176. http://www.carmelart.org.
