Kevin Miller at Monterey Museum of Art-Pacific

As a student at CSUMB, Kevin Miller studied the Mexican and Chinese paper cutting traditions to create "muckraking zines," protest posters and cards for a wedding gift. He added his own experimental touches, like layered effects, sanded plexiglas and paints to zero in on the humor and dread of ordinary life. This show introduces his work under the auspices of MMA's MontereyNOW bi-annual series. Through Nov. 8.
Regular hours. Monterey Museum of Art-Pacific, 559 Pacific St., Monterey. $5/general admission; $2.50/student, military with ID; Free/MMA member. 372-5477. http://www.montereyart.org.
