The world's a topsy-turvy place right now, but the organizers of the 27th annual Rota Fair hope to assuage those fears and bring attendees some clarity and peace of mind. Julie King, Rota's live-and-let-be organizer, said economic failings, the uncertainty of 2012 and a collective consciousness that's sick with worry has left many men and women searching for answers with a more spiritual bent. "I think people come away [from Rota] with a feeling of community, connection and hope," she said. For those who've been coming for years, Rota is like a homecoming in which old friends reunite to hear what's new in the psychic circle (orbs appearing in digital photographs are a hot topic this year) through the weekend long lecture schedule. It's an inviting space for new-comers as well, because Rota is, in King's words, "a safe space for spiritual exploration." Over 40 readers and healers will be offering their services for private consultations. A board at the entrance and a program is provided to match you with the appropriate psychic guide. Lectures on everything from inter-human connectivity to improved communication, both between persons and animals, are rolling all weekend long.
