As a child growing up in Carmel, acclaimed author Marie Matsuki Mockett enjoyed time at the Harrison Memorial Library. Now, she steps up to give back, teaming up with the Carmel Public Library Foundation to present her debut novel “Picking Bones From Ash”, about three generations of mothers and daughters struggling with social balance and cultural identity. Proceeds from the presentation and book signing will go to benefit the library. Seating is limited, so arrive early. [AS]
