Octopi Collective Showcase at the National Steinbeck Center

In theme with the 2009 Steinbeck Festival, the Octopi Collective has created a whole show about the Salinas author's Arthurian book—"The Acts of King Arthur and his Noble Knights." Their show, "From This Stone to Anvil: Arthurian Legend Exposed and Abstracted" is mixed media works created by young artists in Monterey County. Their interpretations of the book range from photography and sculpture, to encaustic (wax) painting and installation pieces. The Octopi Collective is the first group to show in the Steinbeck gallery that does not have a Master of Fine Art. The show runs to November.
