Broken pieces of mirror, dolls, and Jackson-esque white gloves probably aren't very aerodynamic, but they they sure make some cool art. These media, along with acryllic, pen-and-ink, nail polish, and other funky materials grace the bottoms of skateboards in an exhibition devoted to the underground sport. Today's opening sees local bands Para La Gente and Realization rocking out in front of the Steinbeck Center, while skateboarders give demos across the street at the farmer's market. Visitors can snack on soda and candy, and bid in a silent auction for the artwork, which will be up for bid until the exhibition's end on Oct. 17. [MC]
