For weeks now, Avery Gallery has broadcast a call for art for this show, a fusion of the visual arts of photography, painting and sculpture around the subject of music. The focus tends to hew closely to jazz--the Monterey Jazz Festival is the following week--but that doesn't mean other genres won't be represented. Meet many of the artists at Seaside's elegant little city hall at the Sept. 11 reception; the show runs to Sept. 26. [WR]
