Since 1979, when it was open just a half-day a week, the BSHC has filled a rural health care vacuum—saving the community from some rather grarly health situations and saving ailing individuals from having to scramble an hour north or south to get good help. Today it's hard for locals to imagine a healthy South Coast without its expanding, dynamic staff of doctors and alternative practicioners. For this anniversary event, Paige Too brings a jazzy scat soundtrack to the Grange and all of the local restaurants (Post Ranch, BSB, Ventana and other such stalwarts) donate a delicious nibble to compliment the rustic burgers and dogs. An open house precedes the festivities, where the proper toast to go with the lemonade and iced tea would have to be "Salud." [MCA]
