Can't wait till the weekend for your jazz fix? The Monterey County Film Commission and the Monterey Jazz Festival offer a taste to whet the musical appetite with a screening of Clint Eastwood's film "Bird," depicting the life of saxophonist and jazz revolutionary Charlie "Bird" Parker tonight at the Golden State Theater. Resident expert Bill Minor will also be in house to give a talk and answer questions. Stop by the Monterey County Film Commission, Koko's Cafe, or the Alternative Cafe for free tickets. [MC]
