Youth Arts Collective at Monterey Museum of Art-Pacific

Lo and behold—the YAC turned 10 this year (on MLK's b-day, no less) and they commemorate their decade of providing a safe, creative environment for budding artists ages 14-22 with a show at MMA Pacific. A treat for all involved. The YACsters—50 of them—will fill the Buck Youth gallery downstairs with creative stuff in the form of paintings, drawings, ceramics, porcelin, mixed media and more. "There's so much art I don't know how [the museum's] going to fit it all in," says co-founder Marcia Perry. "But they'll figure it out." It runs to May 21 and starts with an opening reception March 18, with the YACsters in attendance. [WR]
