Julia Alter grew up in Santa Cruz and is the author of Walking the Hot Coal of the Earth, a 2004 collection. Angel Look is a longtime Monterey resident who, in her other life, is a nurse at the local hospital's birthing center as well as a visual artist and printmaker. Both poets are brought to East Village by the Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium and other sponsors. [EH]
