David Auburn, who studied under Christopher Durang and Marsha Norman, won the 2001 Tony for Best Play and the Pulitzer for Drama for this play that also nabbed Mary-Loiuse Parker a Tony in its Broadway debut. After the death of her father, a mathematical genius plagued with mental problems, Catherine is reunited with her estranged sister Claire and introduced to her father's former student, Hal, in the wake of the funeral. Over a long weekend, she navigates the mystery of a "paradigm-shifting" mathematical proof that may belong to her father while falling for Hal and struggling with her own feelings and thoughts about her father. Madness. Genius. Maybe two sides of the same coin, but definitely a precarious balancing act. Directed by Elsa Con, the play stars Alexandra Bristow, Rollie Dick, Matt Pavellas and Taylor Thorngate.
