The California-based singer-songwriter brings her philosophical folk sound to the East Village with a voice that has been singing since birth and an acoustic guitar that's been putting out her vibes for over a decade and a half. Her voice is sometimes accompanied by light-hearted banjo, pop-inspired piano or the djembe, a tribal drum originating in western African. West is a frequent performer around San Francisco and Monterey and her influences include Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette and Loreena McKennit. An active member of the Folk Alliance which is dedicated to the promotion and education of music all over the world, West is a firm believer in using music to promote peace. She is currently working on her second solo album. [DVD]
